Charged me $144 just for a diagnosis on the problem, rear window switch. They led me to believe when setting up the appointment and further, when I received a text with an estimate that this would be the cost. Then, wanted $600! I took it to another local repair shop that fixed it at no charge. But this place charged me $144 for not fixing it AND tried to tack on extra surprise fees for what I was told were their ‘hazmat costs’. Total rip-off Your response says a lot about what type of business you run. The $600 charge was just for the window. I never added anything on. In fact, refused other suggested repairs because it’s such an old vehicle the expense didn’t make sense. I never authorized anything when dropping the car off either. I dropped the keys in the box because it was 7 am and the office wasn’t even open at the time. Originally, I was sent an estimate to do an engine check and other diagnostic work and I refused to sign it. I called the office and explained that wasn’t something I needed and that I ONLY wanted help with the window. And YES. A local repair shop in Grand Haven fixed the window for me ( at least stuck it up) for absolutely no charge. To do the same exact repair you quoted me $600 for, they would have done for less than half. You were met with a surprised and angry response because I never consented to personal messages via text from you, especially after it was clear that our business was done. This is an honest review, and I don’t think it’s right to publish my name in a condescending tone just because you don’t like what I have to say.
